A Pennsylvania man got very creative over the weekend after he got hungry for a Reuben sandwich.
On Sunday, 38-year-old an intoxicated Sean Faulkner walked into Sieb’s Pub in Pittsburgh and ordered a Reuben sandwich. Without paying, he grabbed the sandwich and ran straight out of the restaurant.
“He said he was gonna go eat it in the corner and he ended up running out the front door, down the parking lot with the sandwich,” Sieb’s employee Kelly Donatelli told CBS Pittsburgh, who served him. “Just very bizarre. It was weird.”
Drawing further attention to himself, Faulkner then hopped into a forklift he had stolen earlier from a nearby construction site and proceeded use the piece of construction equipment as a getaway car.
“Apparently he was tired of walking and he saw the forklift with the keys in it and seemed like a good idea at the time,” Detective Brian Kohlhepp said.
Faulkner faces a felony theft charge for stealing the forklift, worth $45,000, and misdemeanor theft for stealing the $8 Reuben sandwich.
Though the real crime here is that Sieb’s Pub in Pittsburgh is charging people $8 for a Reuben. That sh*t cray!
Board games can get pretty intense sometimes … but a 60-year-old New Mexican woman went overboard when she repeatedly stabbed her boyfriend after accusing him of cheating at Monopoly.
An intoxicated Laura Chavez and her equally drunk boyfriend were playing the world famous board game at her Santa Fe, NM apartment with her 10-year-old grandson when she noticed her boyfriend Clyde “Butch” Smith cheating.
So Chavez sent her grandson upstairs, grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to play Fruit Ninja with Smith’s face.
The man, who cops found bleeding heavily from wounds on his head and right wrist, was hospitalized yesterday in stable condition. Smith told investigators that Chavez first hit him over the head with a glass bottle and then “grabbed a knife and began cutting him, causing injuries to the top of his head, neck, left eye brow and right wrist area.”
When cops arrived at Chavez’s building, she was sitting under the porch “covered with suspected blood.” Asked if the blood was Smith’s, she answered, “Yes, I fucked him up.”
Chavez was immediately sent to jail (without passing Go and/or collecting $200) on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is currently being held on $5,000 bond.
Animal Control officers found more than 150 cats, dead and alive, inside a Maryland home after a raid last week in one of the worst cases of animal abuse in the history of the state of Maryland. (And probably anywhere else for that matter!)
68 of the cats were dead, and their bodies were in plastic bags, coolers and shallow graves at the home. Officers took the 89 living cats they found on the property to a local vet where some had to unfortunately be euthanized due to their poor physical condition.
The cats that were able to survive are being assessed in hopes that they be can be adopted.
Neighbors say they were fully aware of the homeowner’s problem with animal hoarding. One neighbor told reporters, “I think everyone knows about the smell. Anytime that we went by, there was a smell.”
“When they are in different forms of decomposition, the odor is tremendous,” Harold Domer of the Frederick County Animal Control center said. “When we served the warrant on that Tuesday, we had a device that measured the ammonia smell and it was over 300 particles per million. That does require gas masks.”
Some neighbors say the owner of the home had been saving the lives of unwanted cats.
“Everybody knows around here, if you’ve got a cat you don’t want, you throw it in her yard, it’s going to be alright,” Brent Geouge said. “Because if you take it to the animal shelter, they’re going to kill it.”
The homeowner now faces a number of charges, including animal neglect, which could put her in prison for up to 90 days. She could also receive a $1,000 fine for each count of animal neglect.

Once considered a source of amusement, presidential candidate Herman Cain is now the leading contender among the Republican presidential hopefuls. Cain has gained double digit leads over his competition because he is the antithesis of U.S. President Barack Obama.
Democratic strategist and MSNBC analyst Karen Finney says Cain’s meteoric rise in the political arena is no fluke.
On Martin Bashir’s television program yesterday, Finney said most Republicans feel comfortable with Cain because of his race.

Today, new polls show the former pizza maker surging ahead of President Obama and his closest GOP rival Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
"Whether Herman Cain’s surge in the polls is temporary or has staying power, he’s enjoying a big enough bounce to take a very slight lead over President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. At the moment, the Georgia businessman is the only Republican with a lead of any kind over Obama, although former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has held a similar advantage several times and is currently trailing the president by just two points.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Cain attracting 43% support, while Obama earns 41%."
According to Rasmussen Reports, Cain is tied with Romney for the lead in the race for the GOP presidential nomination. Nobody else is even close at the moment.

According to MTV.com, Eminem and Lil Wayne were shot for the cover at the 2011 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in June, while the Rolling Stones guitarist was shot separately in New York.

Gearing up for the anticipated second season of WE tv’s hit show BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES, the Braxtons made several appearances in Atlanta this week that included a stop at Spelman College’s Homecoming and an intimate dinner with local press. On Wed, Tamar, Trina, Towanda and Traci (Toni was in LA filming) screened the new season’s premiere episode for 300 Spelman students and participated in a lively Q&A that ended in a brief a capella song by the Braxtons.
Then last night, new ATL hotspot Frank Ski’s Restaurant played host to a private dinner with the Braxtons which included an episode screening and Q&A. Attendees – which included everyone from CNN, Associated Press, CBS Radio, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 11Alive, Bossip to Jezebel/The Atlantan, JUICY, StraightfromtheA and many more – enjoyed calamari, fish tacos, short ribs and red velvet cupcakes. The Braxton sisters along with Mom Evelyn (aka “Miss E”) were all smiles and laughs as they dished on life after the first season, their love lives, upcoming album projects and that feisty Tamar! As Miss E put it, “You’ll have to watch and see what happens!”

Despite facing some very serious criminal charges, Soulja Boy Tell'em maintains his innocence.
After the rapper was released from police custody Tuesday, SB made a quick statement to his fans and the press waiting outside. "I'm innocent, man. I love you all. I just want y'all to know I'm innocent," he said as he was rushed to his car, according to CBS Atlanta.
The 21-year-old hitmaker was arrested Tuesday after police pulled over the black Cadillac Escalade Soulja was riding in. After what police are calling a routine traffic stop, they detected a strong marijuana odor and searched the vehicle. Officers found marijuana, guns and cash in the SUV. Sources told CBS Atlanta that police found more than 5 ounces of pot and $46,000 in cash in the rented vehicle. Soulja and the four men who were riding with him were all booked and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The men were being held in Carroll County Jail in Carrollton, Georgia, but were all released after posting bond. As expected, the digital whiz took to Twitter to address his concerned fans. "Aye can I have a real n---a moment? My fans was DEEP AS F--- OUTSIDE THAT JAIL MAN IM SORRY!!! That's love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," he wrote.
The "Turn My Swag On" rapper also took time out to promote his new documentary DVD, which hit stores Tuesday: "Goodnight. Much love go cop soulja boy the movie everywhere now thanks for your prayers."
The final prosecution witness in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson physician Dr. Conrad Murray finished his testimony Thursday (October 20), paving the way for the physician's defense to present their witnesses.
Once again, the jury heard from anesthesiologist and propofol expert Dr. Steven Shafer, who presented a detailed list Wednesday of the 17 errors he believed Murray made in his treatment of Jackson.

» Shafer, who has spent 20 years studying the effects of the surgical anesthetic propofol, informed the jury that there is no way Jackson could have caused his own death by swallowing the drug. Until it abandoned the line of reasoning last week, Murray's defense team appeared to be pursuing a theory that the pop star administered the fatal dose of the drug to himself when Murray was out of the room.
» According to CBS News, Shafer's claims were meant as a response to a report from defense expert Dr. Paul White, who said Jackson may have caused his own death by swallowing propofol. But Shafer said it's impossible for any propofol that is swallowed to enter the bloodstream, which is where coroner's officials found the drug during an autopsy of Jackson.
» Shafer also said Murray's improper use of propofol -- allegedly as a sleep aid -- has made his own patients afraid of the drug. "I am asked every day I'm in the operating room ... 'Are you going to give me the drug that killed Michael Jackson?' " Shafer said.
» A large portion of Thursday's testimony was dedicated to Shafer outlining his mathematical models that simulated various levels of propofol use, as well as demonstrations of how Murray had his medical equipment set up to administer propofol to Jackson. The prosecution later summarized Shafer's testimony, reiterating the fact that in Shafer's professional opinion, Murray's multiple deviations from standard medical care were the direct cause of Jackson's death. Shafer also said Murray is responsible for "every drop of propofol and lorazepam" that ended up in Jackson's room, no matter if he administered it or not, because Murray introduced Jackson to the sedatives in the first place.

Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter, is facing four years in prison if convicted. But new sentencing laws in California meant to mandatorily reduce state prison overcrowding mean that, as a nonviolent offender with no prior record, he could be sentenced to county jail instead. If that is the case, his sentence could be reduced to two years and, because of overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail, he may be allowed to serve the majority of his time under supervised house arrest.
Pregnant actress/singer Hilary Duff is planning to head back into the studio to record her first album of new music since 2007.
The star is due to give birth to her first child, a boy, with her ice hockey player husband Mike Comrie early next year, but she's refusing to let pregnancy derail her plans to return to the pop charts.
Duff tells Eonline.com, "I want to get into the studio. I want to start recording. Even if I just mess around and kind of get myself in the swing of it. Before I got pregnant I was thinking about making a record, so I still want to do that."
And the mother-to-be is already considering going on tour once the tot arrives.
She says, "I think that after I have the baby I'll want to sit still for a few months and learn how to be a really good mum and then there's no reason why I can't put a record out and tour... It might take a little while but I'm really excited about it."
Duff's last album of original material, Dignity, was released in 2007.
Adele has been forced to cancel her upcoming 10 city sold-out tour of the U.S. due to a haemorrhage into her vocal chord. Vocal chord issues forced the British singer to postpone dates earlier this year as well. Adele has just wrapped up touring around the UK and was preparing to kick off her US tour on October 7 in Atlantic City, NJ when her illness reappeared (see below for full list of cancelled US tour dates). Renowned for her powerful live vocal performances, Adele has been advised by doctors that she’ll need an extended rest period in order to begin to recuperate properly.
